I know that these Anna Dello Russo for H&M golden booties are sold out by now, but I still wanted to write a review because I loved them so much and because you might be looking for them on eBay and some extra info wont hurt, right? Besides, when I looked at the amazing photos my husband took of these shoes, I knew I had to share them with you! Aren't these shoes a piece of art?
OVERALL LOOK - These booties are amazing. What can I add? They are so beautiful, I wouldn't ever wear them and would just keep them as a piece of art, if not the fact that I bought them especially to wear for my wedding. Quality, shape, design, golden leather, sculptural heel - all together they have a real Anna Dello Russo look - chic, quality designer shoes, a bit over the top, but who cares? Fashion is just a game.
SIZING - I bought my normal 39 EU size, which was about half a size too small, because of the pointed toe. But I think one size bigger would be too much (they don't come in half sizes), so I say they're TRUE TO SIZE.
These booties have a 12 cm heel and 2 cm hidden platform.
COMFORT - as I said, they do pinch at the toe, but they have a pretty firm grip on the heel - which is like 100 times more important for me! I hate it when shoes fall off my heels every time I take a step. Which these ADR for H&M booties absolutely do not. That's why I love them.
And just to make it clear - they're not meant for a long run around the city, like any other high heels shoes.
MATERIAL - golden leather and plastic heel covered with golden paint, which I'm afraid will come off if not handled carefully (I'm looking at you, Dutch brick roads!). These booties also have a leather sole, so you will have to take them to the cobbler if you want to keep it safe.
QUALITY - perfect. I'd take off some points for the painted heel, but other than that, they're everything I could wish for.
PRICE - 179 EU when they just came out, I bought them on sale for 50 EU. This was a real snag! Is 179 EU too high? Well, depends. Divide the price by number of times you think you will wear them to make your own decision.
CONCLUSION - amazing shoes for a special occasion. Especially for the sale price :)
