Today's party outfit idea is a rock chick variation of a little (or not so little) black dress, combined of black maxi sheer skirt and a black mesh top, paired with strappy heeled sandals (all of them Zara from this and last year) and an oxblood (or red... is it red?) leather biker jacket I bought years ago at Pimkie.
I chose minimal (as in number) accessories, a statement necklace and spiked and 2 finger rings I got at ebay and a patent clutch I bought for my sister's wedding. And a black watch I seem to wear 24/7 these days. It goes with almost everything and can be worn for any occasion. And red nails!
What I especially like about this Zara maxi skirt is that it has shorts sewn to it (and not a mini skirt) so I don't have to worry at all about flashing to much. Sheer skirt that has side slits can make you feel uncomfortable if it doesn't give a proper cover underneath it! Especially if it's windy outside, or if you go dancing.
Speaking of wind, it was almost storming when we went outside to shoot this outfit, so I got pretty much upset (hint: ruined hairdo. I have enough problems with my growing hair, because it refuses to settle into a hairdo at this length!) but instead we got amazing photos with flowy sheer waves.
I also wore my beloved Zara heels, I cannot get enough of them! They might be not the easiest to walk in, but they're simply the most flattering and amazing pair of sandals Zara ever made. At the end of this post you will see a possible solution for tired feet (you can also use gel insoles, that saved my own feet many times before). Another tip - wear flats on your way to the party unless you go by car. It's a shame to have tired and sore feet long before the fun begins!
The last word of advice here would be the straps of your top versus the straps of your bra. After living 16 years in Israel, I almost lost my power of judgement about what is appropriate bra straps-wise. In warm countries girls stop caring about these insignificant details as showing bra straps. But deep inside I know that it's better to hide your underwear (and yes, this includes gel straps, which in my opinion are pretty awful), so do your best when choosing an outfit for a party (or any outfit for that matter) and weight all possibilities. Hint - wear a bra with X straps on the back if the top has racer backside. Or go strapless, but then dancing becomes mission impossible! Anyhow, this is just a point to consider. (P.S. don't hit me for sinning at the very thing I'm preaching against. I wasn't planning on taking this jacket off after the photoshoot:)
And above all, enjoy yourself and have a great party!
