Outfit:Party / Going out
Occasion:Birthday dinner of a friend
Wearing:red top / Jane Norman old,
leather pants / Nowhere, green heels / Dune old,
clear clutch / Zara,
skull earrings / Asos
Style notes:I already mentioned red and green worn together in my previous post, where I wrote that's it's important to be careful with this combination (and actually wore a red/green outfit). These colors can actually work great together when taken in small portions, for example like these green heels and/or as light fabric, like this sheer red top.
I'm a big fan of contradictions (see my Black and White obsession), and I like to use them to add accents to otherwise boring outfit. In this case I also chose neutral clear clutch, simple green ring and huge skull earrings as main accent for when we were sitting at the table.
During the years I worked behind a computer I realized simple truth - when you sit the whole day, people rarely see your legs and shoes. This means that if you wore all black with bright heels, most of the people will only see all black. Same with those restaurant events - imagine I wore no (or very small) earrings and no green ring, people of the table would only see my red top and would have no idea about the red/green combination. Statement earrings are a life saver in these cases - when you walk on the street people see your whole outfit without paying a lot of attention to the earrings, until you sit down and then earrings become your main accessory.
